Rates Da Goldfish Lyrics

Fairytale Wishes and the Dreams of Goldfishes ( RDG )

Sleeping beauty ain't waiting round here,
For some strange prince to wipe away her tears,
She is reaching for the stars all on her own,
Chasing her dreams and facing the unknown

And the Big Bad wolf is giving me puppy dog eyes,
The three little pigs have grown old and wise,
Cinderelle is throwing a ball and I have an invitation,
All through the power of my imagination

It's a magic carpet ride, flying for the sun,
It's a party in your dreams, and you're inviting everyone
You can take the beast and put a beauty there instead,
Turn every bad dream into a paradise, in a world inside your head

I want to be the hero,
I want to be a knight,
I want to tame a dragon,
and ride it in it's flight,
I want to dream the fantasy,
of every boy and girl,
and live them in my mind,
I want to find a world
Full of Fairy tale wishes
And the the dreams of goldfishes

You can be anything you want to be,
The king of the mountain, the queen of the sea,
In a world of peace and diversity
You can reach any goal as long as you believe

The little mermaid is dancing to a beautiful song,
And all of us are just singing along,
There's no worries or fears when the world's on vacation
All through the power of my imagination

It's a griffon's ride, flying for the moon,
A life inside your dreams, that always ends too soon,
You can take the wicked witch and put a fairy there instead,
Turn every fear into a strength, in a world inside your head

I want to be the magic,
lighting up the night,
I want to find the phoenix,
and ride it's in it's flight,
I want to dream the fantasy,
of every boy and girl,
and live them in my mind,
I want to find a world
Full of Fairy tale wishes
And the the dreams of goldfishes

I want to take the world,
And give it all to you,
Show you all the magic,
that we all can do,
I want to find a world
Full of Fairy tale wishes
And the dreams of goldfishes

Sir Elton Napoleon John Bonaparte Rates Goldfish, SUPER STAR! ( RDG )

I get up on stage and the fishies all start to cheer,
they just can't believe a fishy's singin'here,
I shake my fin, I shake my tail
And all the little guppies begin to wail,
I'm a superstar- if only in my dreams

Something on his mind.. ( RDG )

The lights were all out and it was time to sleep,
But Spot, he had thoughts that just wouldn't keep,
So he swam in circle, then he swam in two,
Before waking up Rates with a "What should I do?"

Rates shook off his sleep and just blinked for a few,
"what do you mean now, what do you do?
It's time to be sleeping, and dreaming our dreams,
But that's not gonna happen? ..at least that's how it seems."

Spot just swam back and forth, his eyes wide awake,
"I've got a decision that I've got to make..
You see, I'm a writing a story, I'll maybe write two..
About the Whatzit and Whozit and Goobley Goo."

Rates blinked "The Wherezit and Howzit of say what and who?
I don't understand, what do you need to do?
You're supposed to be sleeping, so just go to sleep
And finish tomorrow, the story will keep.."

Spot shook his head, a serious look on his face,
"I have to finish the story, or I'll lose my place!
It's the Whozit and Whatzit of a place called Somewhere,
And the greatest story that will ever be there."

Molly woke up, awoke with the noise and the chatter,
And she swam close to see what was the matter,
"Did you say gidgets and gadgets cause that's kinda my thing..
Perhaps I can help, just let me think.."

"What kind of gidgets and gadgets are you looking to use?
Maybe, just maybe, I can make something for you"
Spot signed looked down, then up again
"Not gidgets and gadgets, Molly my friend.

"I am writting a story, the best ever wroten..
Or is it written, or writed, .. the best ever spoken
It's the most storyish story that ever could be,
About the Whozit and Whatzit the live by the Something Sea"

Rates nodded, and hmmed, them he hmmed and nodded.
"The Howzit and Wowzit, I think I got it,
A someone and something that live by Nowhere Lake,
Can some one please tell me why we're all awake?"

Now Bubba came over, and looked so confused..
"Yo, why are yous talking when it's time to snooze?"
Then Molly replied before Spot could speak
"Spot is looking for gidgets and gadgets from Chesapeake.."

Spot grumbled and grumped "I may not sleep tonight, this month or this week.."
And then he started again " I am.. wait.. Chesapeake?
I'm not even really sure where this Chesapeake is..
Where did that come from? Is there something I missed?"

"It's the Whozit and Whatzit by the Something Sea,
Not a Howzit or Wowzit, just listen to me,
They are living in Somewhere, not Chesapeake Bay,
And I have to finish my story before it goes away!"

Now Chilli's awake, and Rex is up too
Chilli said "How can we help you to do what you do?"
Spot said "I just need a word that ryhmes with tails.."
And Rex just blinked once, before he replied "Snails"

And Spot thought about this, then rethank and think-ed,
"Rex, that is perfect, it's just what I needed!"
And simple as that, Spot went to sleep,
keeping the story that just wouldn't keep.

Rates and Miss Molly, Rex, and Bubba too
And even Lil Chilli didn't know what to do
Cause now they're wide awake, while Spots snoring away,
Dreaming of Howzits and Whenzits and Chesapeake Bay.
(Spoken Word)
The whatzit and whozit of Somewhere
A whatzit and a whozit lived in a town next to the Something Sea
A place called Somewhere that was really nowhere and home to a whatzit, a whozit and me.
Well the whatzit and whozit they were known all around for making the funniest tales,
But me, I’m a goldfish, so I am just know for how I take care of the snails.

Goldfish Kisses ( RDG )

We know some of you get sad.
Some are lonely.
Some are just more tired everyday.
We wish we could goldfish kiss the air and take every bad away.
Maybe we can help you smile a lil more some days.
If so, everyday is worth it.

Goldfish For A Day ( RDG )

It isn’t your size that matters,
or how strong you think you are,
As long as you keep trying,
We know that you’ll go far,
So pack up those frustrations,
And stow your fear away,
Float along the current,
Be a goldfish for a day.

Life is fragile; Embrace it
Time is fleeting; Don’t waste it
When tomorrow never seems
To chase away all those yesterdays
And the shards of broken dreams,
Leave you with nothing left to say,
When you feel like your drowning
In another wave
You can just rest,
& swim with me.

Swim With Me ( RDG )

Life is fragile; Embrace it
Time is fleeting; Don’t waste it
When tomorrow never seems
To chase away all those yesterdays
And the shards of broken dreams,
Leave you with nothing left to say,
When you feel like your drowning
In another wave
You can just rest,
& swim with me.

The Fishbowl Observatory ( RDG )

Verse 1:
There’s a telescope made of an old marble and a bent-up paperclip,
Balanced on the edge of my pebble pile like a secret science experiment—
I keep watch for the first star that might trip and tumble right into our bowl,
Wonder if it would taste like sugar, or just burn a little hole in the water.

Verse 2:
Miss Molly does her backflips and claims she’s discovered Atlantis in the filter,
Bubba’s convinced that the moon is made out of shrimp flakes,
I say, “Let’s chart a course for the dark behind the bookshelf,
Maybe that’s where the universe finally runs out of breath.”

Chorus:
Goldfish eyes, wide and unblinking,
Watching the world spin through a glassy lens—
Every night, I name a new constellation,
Every morning, it’s gone, but I keep looking again.
Because you can dream in a bowl,
And find galaxies between the cracks in your own reflection.

Bridge:
If there’s life on Mars, I hope they get bedtime stories, too—
If there’s a comet coming, let it bring postcards,
Maybe a tiny helmet for my head.

Rates’ Seven-Second Memory (And Other Myths) ( RDG )

Verse 1:
They say I forget everything,
Like every lap is the first, every friend a stranger—
But I remember the purple shell with the chip in it,
The way Molly sighs when the rain hits the glass,
The night Spot tried to invent an underwater campfire.

Verse 2:
The humans giggle: “Goldfish can’t hold a thought,”
But I’ve got whole novels carved in my brain—
About the pirate days when the castle was new,
About the time I almost swallowed a lightning bug.

Chorus:
You can call it a myth,
But I hold on tight to the good stuff—
Because sometimes you only need a second
To know you’re alive,
And sometimes a second is a lifetime
If you refuse to let it float away.

Bridge:
Maybe the trick isn’t memory—
It’s choosing which stories you keep
When everything is water, and time’s a circle.

Kisses for the Grownups ( RDG )

Verse 1:
Molly says sometimes people cry when they think no one sees—
That some humans carry rainstorms in their eyes,
So we all gather in the corner, blowing bubbles like wild confetti,
Trying to float a message through the glass: “Hey. It’s not all bad.”

Verse 2:
Bubba says sadness tastes like the water after a thunderstorm,
Rex wants to bite it, just to see if he can win—
Me, I blow a goldfish kiss,
Let it stick to your cheek,
A spot of hope that stings just a little,
But never leaves a bruise.

Chorus:
Some hurts don’t go away,
But I promise, neither do the kisses—
If you wake up feeling like a ghost,
We’ll keep swimming until you remember you’re real.

Bridge:
The world’s too big for one little fish,
But I’d shrink it down if I could—
If it helps, imagine you’re swimming with us,
At the bottom of the bowl,
Where no one gets left behind.

Tales from the Bottom of the Bowl ( RDG )

Verse 1:
Spot’s at it again, scribbling in the gravel with a cracked coral pen,
Composing epic sagas for an audience of snails—
He says, “It’s all about the journey, not the finish line,”
But I’m just hoping for a snack break.

Verse 2:
Rex claims he saw the Loch Ness Monster in the plastic seaweed,
Bubba swears the bubbles speak in code,
Molly’s convinced she’s a wizard, waving her tail like a wand,
I’m just a fish with too many bedtime questions.

Chorus:
Down here, where the world’s a little blurry,
Every pebble could be a secret, every shadow a spell—
We invent heroes out of boredom,
And monsters out of midnight hunger,
And hope tomorrow’s story is weirder than today’s.

Bridge:
If the filter hum is a lullaby,
Let’s dream of giant fins and bigger bowls,
Let’s swim until the story writes us new names.

Bubble Mailbox ( RDG )

Verse 1:
We invented a mailbox out of an old bottle cap and a feather,
Every day, we send bubble-letters—no stamps, no addresses,
Just questions for the world outside:
Do dogs dream of being fish?
Do people ever wish for fins?

Verse 2:
Spot writes to the moon, Molly writes to the Queen of the Snails,
Bubba only ever writes “YOLO!” and Rex just sends burps—
Me, I keep asking for stories,
Hoping one day, a reply floats down.

Chorus:
We don’t get many answers, but that’s okay—
Half the fun is the waiting, half is the guess,
And maybe the universe is just shy,
Or maybe it’s laughing with us,
Somewhere past the filter hum.

Bridge:
One day, a message will come back—
A silver bubble, shining with a secret,
And we’ll all crowd around, hoping it’s for us.

Wishbones & Fishbones ( RDG )

Verse 1:
Humans break their wishbones and hope for magic,
But I just chase my own tail and call it a miracle—
We’re all made of wishes and fishbones,
And sometimes that’s enough.

Verse 2:
Molly says the world is made of stories,
Bubba says it’s made of snacks,
I say it’s both, and more besides—
A million small prayers, a thousand close calls,
And the hope the bowl will never crack.

Chorus:
So make a wish for a better day,
Or just wish for another swim—
We’re tiny, but that’s what makes our magic big,
We’re fragile, but that’s why we keep wishing.

Bridge:
If you ever feel small,
Just remember:
Every goldfish was someone’s first miracle,
And every wish is a promise the world isn’t done with you yet.
